Wavefront sensing technique using a 2-dimensional grating is applied to the measurement of the wavefront aberration of a human eye. This type of 2-dimensional wavefront sensor can be combined with a LC-SLM to make up a compact inexpensive adaptive optics. The new algorithm we used for 2-dimensional gradient-to-phase reconstruction is also summarized along with an alternative wavefront measurement technique based on adaptive optics.
