Chaotic secure communiation based on the chaotic laser diode transmitter/receiver array sheme (CLDTRAS) with optical feedback is described. It is shown that the CLDTRAS is hardware-dependent but independent of chaos syncronization. Because the communication can be accomplished using an asynchoronous laser diode transmitter/receiver array, it is difficult to eavesdrop with forged hardware.
