H. Miyazaki, S. Ebisawa and S. Komatsu: Eavesdrop detection system for chaotic communication with mutual optical coupling: Influence of interrupted coupling on characteristics of chaos synchronization, Extended Abstracts (Optics and Photonics Japan 2007) (2007) 584-585.

We study eavesdrop detection for chaotic communication system, which consists of two mutually coupled semiconductor lasers subject to optical feedback using a partially transparent mirror. Influence of interrupted coupling caused by eavesdropping on characteristics of chaos synchronization between the transmitter and the receiver laser is numerically investigated. The proposed method of eavesdrop detection using this model is expected to improve the security of chaotic communication.
