Y. Yoneda, R. Obana, and S. Komatsu: Color imaging using optimized free-form phase mask for wavefront coding, Technical Digest, MOC'09 (Odaiba, Tokyo, 2009), 318-319 (2009). (J-98)
Wavefront coding (WFC) is a well-known technique for extending the depth of focus of an imaging lens. We experimentally examined color imaging using an optimized free-form phase mask (FPM) that has already been confirmed to extend the on-axis and off-axis depths of focus to much larger values than those for the conventional cubic phase mask (CPM), and we demonstrated the good performance of the FPM when used with an even color imaging system.
