Abstract: We propose a new method to measure the phase distribution of a light wave by compensating its wavefront with a spatial light modulator (SLM). The SLM tries to modify the input wavefront to produce an output plane wave by means of the simulated annealing algorithm. The feasibility of this method is confirmed with computer simulation.
